Stable operation of the Horizontal Gas Fired Steam Boiler depends on standardized daily maintenance. Standard maintenance can extend equipment service life, maintain thermal efficiency and reduce unexpected downtime.
Before startup per shift, operators need to check gas pipe connections for leakage. Check water level gauge and pressure gauge to confirm readings within rated ranges, and verify the safety valve remains intact. During operation, monitor flame status, record data of pressure, water level and exhaust gas temperature. Complete boiler blowdown as required to discharge scale and impurities at the bottom.
Flush the water level gauge weekly, test the safety valve manually, clean the air inlet filter of the burner and inspect fan rotation status. Inspect gas filters monthly, remove carbon deposits on the burner and calibrate all safety interlock devices. Empty water inside the boiler and implement internal anti-corrosion protection for long-term shutdown.
Water quality management is the key of maintenance. Feedwater must be softened. Test water quality indicators regularly to reduce scale buildup inside the boiler. Scale will lower heat exchange efficiency and may cause furnace overheating and damage in severe cases.
