Most customers prioritize bitumen volatilization performance when selecting storage equipment. They are concerned about material loss and performance degradation of bitumen during long-term storage, as well as persistent pungent fumes affecting the factory working environment. The Horizontal Bitumen Tank delivers excellent low-volatility performance in conventional storage scenarios with no substantial or obvious outward leakage of bitumen fumes.
In terms of structural design, the Horizontal Bitumen Tank features an integrated fully sealed structure. All connectors, inspection hatches, feeding ports and discharging ports are well sealed to prevent continuous gas leakage through gaps. Bitumen volatilization is mainly caused by the evaporation of internal light hydrocarbon components when heated. Poor tank tightness leads to continuous outward diffusion of oil gas, which presents as obvious volatilization and strong irritating odors. The volatilized oil gas accumulates at the top of the tank and condenses back into liquid bitumen as the temperature drops slightly, forming an internal circulation. Only a negligible amount of gas escapes out of the tank. During daily on-site inspections, no visible smoke or oil mist can be observed around the tank, and no strong bitumen odor lingers in the factory area, greatly optimizing the operating experience of on-site staff.
Noticeable volatilization only occurs in specific operational stages instead of conventional static storage. Frequent large-scale feeding and discharging leads to rapid liquid level changes and sharp fluctuations in gas phase space, resulting in temporary trace oil gas emission. Long-term over-temperature storage increases bitumen fluidity and activates light hydrocarbon components, temporarily raising the volatilization level. Extreme weather with drastic day-night temperature differences also slightly enhances tank breathing and causes minimal oil gas overflow. However, these are all temporary operational phenomena. Volatilization will immediately return to an extremely low level once the tank resumes static storage.
Compared with open storage and simple uncovered storage facilities, the Horizontal Bitumen Tank has outstanding advantages in volatilization control. Ordinary open storage equipment lacks complete sealing and thermal insulation structures. Slight daily temperature fluctuations will cause continuous fume emission. Long-term open storage leads to visible bitumen loss. Moreover, the massive loss of light components will harden bitumen and undermine its construction adaptability. With the dual protection of complete sealing and thermal insulation, the Horizontal Bitumen Tank achieves ultra-low material loss during long-term storage and maintains stable bitumen performance. It avoids frequent fresh bitumen blending and saves additional manpower required for treating drifting bitumen fumes.

In terms of factory environmental application, the negligible trace volatilization causes no on-site troubles. The small amount of escaped oil gas is low in concentration and will not diffuse widely. On-site operators can only smell a faint natural bitumen scent without encountering choking or eye-irritating dense fumes. The tank effectively prevents bitumen sludge from adhering to the ground and surrounding equipment, reducing the frequency of daily cleaning and maintenance. In long-term operation, it reduces implicit bitumen consumption costs, maintains a clean and tidy working environment, and balances reliable material storage performance and comfortable on-site operation.
Considering various application scenarios including long-term continuous storage, intermittent storage and outdoor placement, bitumen volatilization is extremely mild in the Horizontal Bitumen Tank under standard and reasonable storage conditions. Slight short-term volatilization only occurs during frequent material handling or extreme temperature conditions. Its overall low-volatility performance fully meets the daily bitumen storage requirements of road construction and asphalt mixing plants.
